O VAZIO is the Portuguese term for “THE VOID”. And this name is linked to this man for almost 20 years on stage. João Leonardo "o Vazio" de Almeida is a Brazilian rock philosopher. An independent music articulator. A singer and songwriter (having worked in several bands and performed in many cities of Brazil), whose identity was constructed during the first decade of this century, in Rio de Janeiro City, from his compositions (which are also played by other Brazilian independent groups) and from his characteristic, intense and breathtaking performances. Philosophical lyrics with sarcastic humor, deep thoughts and acid criticism; Beautiful, winding melodies and desperate screams; Improvisations, theatricality and visceral executions:

Relying on highly skilled and equally visceral musicians to accompany him, his solo work has more of a "Stoner" footprint, with psychedelic colors, blues elements and classic rock forms (with a heavier musicality, in an entirely contemporary reading). There are poems weaving sensory conections in their performances, always valuing the linguistic construction, the content of the text and the interpretation of the poetic speech. It is a Dionysian band, with deep and sharp discourse, performing an energetic, creative, impious and well-crafted rock and roll, without losing the rawness of their sound, which makes it a real slap in the face.
